Niwot Baseball Former Player Patrick Perry 2001 Graduate
|
Patrick was part of 2 State Titles at Niwot during his Sophomore and
Junior years. During the 1999 and 2000 seasons Patrick played in the
outfield where he garnered All State and All Conference honors. Heading
into his senior season Patrick made the transition to catcher. After only
one summer behind the plate Patrick was catching the eyes of collegiate
scouts with his 2.0 pop times. An injury early in the season de-railed
Patrick's and the teams 2001 season leaving him with only a handful of at
bats.
After graduating Patrick went on to play at Otero Junior College. While playing there Patrick
impressed with his catching as well as his hitting leading Otero to some of their best years in recent
memory. Patrick was named to the All Region IX team both years.
Patrick then decided to attend the University of Northern Colorado which was just beginning to make
the transition to Division 1. Patrick set many school records, led the nation in hitting and was named
the Division 1 Independent Player of the Year.
After only his Junior season Patrick was drafted in the 7th round by the Boston Red Sox. He played 2
+ years with the Sox minor league affiliates from Greenville and Lowell before being released. Patrick
has spent the last 2 years playing Independent Ball for the Worcestor Tornadoes of the Can-Am
League. Perry hit .315 last year and finished just out of the top ten for the entire league in hitting.
