Niwot Baseball Former Player Brett Hawley 2007 Graduate
|
Brett Hawley finished off a successful career at Niwot with a
scholarship to Otero Junior College in Lajunta, Colorado. Hawley
started as a catcher for 3 years for the Cougars and became an
integral part of the pitching staff his senior season.
Hawley was given the ball to start the first game of both the District
Tournament and the State Tournament. Hawley's unflappable
personality helped to guide the Cougars to a 3rd place finish in the
State Tournament.
Hawley hit only .250 his senior season, but his presence behind the
plate helped to control a very inexperienced pitching staff in 2007.
On the mound Hawley finished the year 3-1 with a 3.72 ERA with 36 strikeouts against only 17 walks. Brett
was named All Northern League for his pitching. Brett played one season at Otero Junior College in La
Junta, Colorado
